This Friday is the third Friday of the month that means that Denny will be performing his monthly show. You might remember him from the recent Relay for Life benefit concert that Alurel hosted. He played wonderfully with Beth Odets and on Friday you can catch him playing on his own.

DennyMac has been playing for so long that his callouses have callouses! After years in rock bands he has returned to his first love, acoustic fingerstyle guitar. His amazing skill and deep soulful voice will leave you wanting more. Heavily influenced by Bob Dylan, Peter Paul and Mary, Kingston Trio, James Taylor, the Beatles and of course Paul Simon, Larry Carleton, Richie Havens and many others, he plays your favorite covers as well as moving originals. Come have a listen, you'll leave smiling.

Fireside Tales is a bi-weekly event where you will hear short stories read by Aianna Oh to the accompaniment of the truly gifted DennyMac and his guitar. You will not only hear original fantasy stories written by Aianna Oh, but you will also hear short stories from a great many talented authors, from the fairy tales we all enjoyed as children to more grown up (no not THAT grown up!) fantasy tales.

This week's tale is The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Anderson! No, this is not the Disney version! This is the tale as Anderson originally wrote it. If any of you have ever read the old fairy tales as they were originally written, you know that they can be quite dark.

Join us on Sunday June 24th at 11 AM SLT as we follow the little mermaid through her journey of love, happiness, loss and reward in this classic tale that is bound to take you back to that wondrous time when you were just a small child listening to stories at your mother's knee!

Remember too while you are thinking about life in the water that we have our Waters of Alurel image series for the Photo Wednesdays coming up and we would love your submissions!

Before that, Phemie played in bands from high school on including a 4 year stint in a professional alternative rock band that worked fulltime and had a total blast.  After acquiring a degree in Music Ed and Voice Performance, Phemie has looked to writing music as a way to fully express her musical passion. She loves the people of SL and their open minded attitudes toward originals. She opened the Firefly in 2008 and features original artists of the highest caliber. She plans to continue to write and sing and play and better herself along the way.
12pm slt Russell Eponym

Russell is a musician, songwriter, and poet, and his many fine compositions have become regularly requested at his performances.  His songs have an enchanting, lyrical quality and musical flow which have been likened to the sounds of 'summer mountain streams'.  His repertoire also contains many songs by other writers such as Donovan, Dylan and Knopfler, but Russell always manages to recreate something in his inimitable style.  Russell also enjoys close contact with his audiences and will often take a few minutes to tell a story or to explain the meanings in a song.
1pm slt quantamis Navarathna

Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist Quantamis Navarathna streams live from Central Texas. By the age of 15, he was writing & performing his own compositions and has continued to play with many bands over the years.
Quan’s smooth vocals accompanied by flawless guitar leaves the listener wanting more. This artist’s versatility is reflected in the many genres in which he delves. His music is a blend of acoustic folk rock, soft rock, alternative, Spanish classical and renaissance with a bit of Texas country mixed in for good measure.
In the words of Traci Nubalo:
"He brings to us the heart of the true poet. He has a strong commitment to the craft of writing and performing; he’s resolute in his willingness to do what it takes to offer his audience 100% every time he hits the stage."

If music feeds the soul, Maximillion Kleene is the food of the gods. His dynamic musical range and smooth groove provide many a listener with a virtual buffet of auditory temptations. By 19, he was seriously immersed to the very center of his musical soul in AC/DC and from there branched out to experiment with sounds that range from Pearl Jam to Foo Fighters  to Jason Mraz. Max brings high energy and a vast repertoire of quirky, classic, and current covers to Second Life. Oozing charisma and charm, he provides his fans with an hour of musical magic.

Cleo's original music can be described as a mix of folk and pop and aims to pull at the deeper feelings we sometimes hide.

• Winner 2010 Loveli talent contest in SL, a judged music talent contest.
• Listed on the SL A-list of live singer/instrumentalists.
• Live performances feature original music, covers from James Taylor, xxxxxx
I began writing ballads and love songs while growing up in rural upstate New York.  My songs reflect an early country influence, a tinge of the blues, and my love of folk type  ballads.
After many years, I've found my way back to writing and public performances in the Portland, Oregon area and through many venues via the virtual reality of the Second Life platform. I perform original work, James Taylor covers and more.
8pm slt DennyMac & Beth Odets

DennyMac will blow you away with his acoustic guitar, but add Beth Odets' incredible fiddle and you're looking at potentially best music event in Second Life!

Her Solo Performances in SL  Feature Both Violin/Fiddle AND Guitar/Vocals.  She plays/sings Originals and Covers - an eclectic mix  that ranges from *Blues to Bluegrass* and from *Mozart to metallica*.     STYLE:  Sensitive ballads, classic rock and roll, unusual covers, unique songs from personal friends, heartfelt originals.
RoseDrop Rust aka Dan Linn, aka Rusty,  grew up in Portland Oregon where his mother taught him to play the ukulele, and his father installed frets on a Hawaiian steel guitar, which become his first guitar. His father sold records and managed a band, while Rusty took classical piano lessons for eight years.
Eventually Dan began experimenting with podcasting in the summer of 2005 and his first official podcast was recorded September 11th, 2005.  The podcast, RoseDrop Media Circus, was eventually streamed into SL at Pannie's on Sunday nights until SL gigs took over.
