12pm - 1pm - Shannon Oherlihy & Beth Odets

Shannon McMahon is a singer/songwriter/ guitar player based in Stratford, CT. She has been singing since she was a little girl, when she sang into her hairbrush along with Carly Simon records. When she was nine, she got her first guitar, and started writing her own songs at the age of ten. Inspired by the music of John Denver, Gordon Lightfoot, Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, Judy Collins and Bob Dylan, Shannon found her musical roots in contemporary folk.

Beth Odets (Beth Brown in RL) has been playing violin for 27 of her 37 years on earth! She was also one of the first live musicians in Second life (2005). In RL She plays Classical Violin and Fiddle professionally. She also teaches Violin in person or via Skype!

Together they have a unique sound that will take you back to the mountain days of old and you won't be able to help moving to their magical sound.

1pm - 2pm - Beth Odets

Beth Odets (Beth Brown in RL) has been playing violin for 27 of her 37 years on earth! She was also one of the first live musicians in Second life (2005). In RL She plays Classical Violin and Fiddle professionally. She also teaches Violin in person or via Skype!

Her Solo Performances in SL Feature Both Violin/Fiddle AND Guitar/Vocals. She plays/sings Originals and Covers - an eclectic mix that ranges from *Blues to Bluegrass* and from *Mozart to metallica*. Perhaps her best talent is being able to fit "The Murder Ballad that Didnt happen in Kentucky" and " Schindlers List" next to each other in a song list... Who knows? - It's Entertaining and also Beautiful with a side order of funny!

2pm - 4pm - A Return to the Old Ways - Spontaneous Stories by Aianna Oh

(This event is held at the Story Pavilion) Teleport link

What do we mean by old ways? Well, a long time ago, story tellers would pluck a story out of the air and tell it to their listeners around the fire. This is how all of Aianna Oh's short stories have been written. This story telling is not done in voice but in local chat. While she can read a written tale aloud, making one up in voice is another matter. But typing one out is much easier...it's harder to stutter when typing :). Aianna may designate one or two trusted friends to copy and paste all she types to be cleaned up later and added to her collection of short stories in case she crashes before she's finished.

Aianna Oh has been telling stories since childhood. She began putting them down on paper by the age of 12, poetry by the age of 8. She wrote her first novel in conjunction with her father at age 15, which turned into a series of 6 books and a 7th offshoot. At the time it was said that "she had the imagination while the old man had the grammar she lacked." Now all grown up and able to express herself with her own words she writes her poetry and short stories as the whim strikes her and is currently starting a new series of novels on her own.

4pm - 5pm - Mordewis Greymyst

Mordewis Greymyst (Moss Bliss IRL) has been playing guitar badly since 1964 and has been known to sing passably. He has written a few award-winning songs (no, not Grammys), but mostly finds and performs rare and/or forgotten songs that are known only to die-hard folk musicians with ears for lyrical excellence. His performances are largely reserved for Science Fiction conventions and Pagan gatherings, where he breaks out the songs he is too embarrassed to play elsewhere. He lives in Sevierville TN USA with his four guitars, two housemates, three snakes, and four cats, and is very happy. He is also Senior Editor for a couple of small ePublishers, a Peer Support Specialist and mental health civil rights activist, and so many other differing endeavors it is hard for him to get around to music.
